Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Responsible for leading operations for one to three quality control laboratories with up to 8 degreed scientists and 5 technicians. Contributions and accomplishments included:- Promoted to lead company’s finished goods, raw materials and microbiology QC laboratories.- Oversaw all daily operations and testing of incoming materials, bulk product and finished goods inspections.- Improved contemporaneous accuracy and legibility with new data integrity documentation process.- Ensured the lab had exemplary GMP, GLP and Data Integrity plus tracking of all critical metrics and laboratory productivity.- Major contributor to design of a new laboratory and managed all logistics for move to the new lab.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Promoted to report to the Director of Quality in the company's first formal quality engineering function and lead a team of 5 engineers and scientist.- Selected as Team Lead to inaugurate company’s first formal quality engineering function that had not previously been well defined.- Developed new Quality Event and CAPA processes utilized throughout the site.- Analyzed and reduced variables on current products to improve repeatability during production.- Eliminated issues related to over-filling and under-filling in operations with in-line devices.

Supervised 2 technicians as one of 8-9 scientists who shared responsibility for all quality control testing and processes in the lab. Contributions and accomplishments included:- Evolved as the “go-to person” in the group to most often attack quality issues and directed cross-functional teams to a consensus for implementing corrective and preventative actions (teams included Quality Control, R&D, Engineering, Product Development and others as required).- Investigated and assigned root cause and corrective actions for bulk product non-conformances.- Helped develop automated database tracking of out-of-specification results generated in the QC lab that also documented trend causes used for revising training objectives and procedures.- Developed method to quickly and objectively measure particle size distribution of raw materials and products in order to predict and prevent failures in products after their production.- Negotiated significant cost-saving terms in service contracts that generated sizeable annual savings.

As one of the 10-12 degreed scientists in the lab, typically supervised an assistant scientist and a technician in performing all of the lab’s QC functions. Contributions and accomplishments included:- Performed routine analysis on raw materials and bulk product as per quality control specifications using GC, HPLC, FT-IR and wet chemical methods.- Documented non-conformances and executed short and long-term corrective actions for bulk product process deviations.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

An initial three-month temporary contract assignment led to permanent employment in the Quality Control Lab doing the following:- Performed routine analysis on raw materials and bulk product as per quality control specifications using GC, HPLC, FT-IR and wet chemical methods.- Accomplished laboratory self-audits as well as vendor Certificate of Analysis metals audits to eliminate harmful metals from contaminating ingredients.
