Developed technical skills in Civil 3D, ForteWeb, Excel, and Web Structural. Assisted in the design and drafting of various residential and commercial buildings with regard to structural analysis. Designing concrete foundations, steel beams and columns, wood beams and column, framing elements and analyzing dynamic and static loads were all daily tasks. I also assisted in field surveys, concrete testing, and building structural inspections.

As an engineer in training with the USACE, I shadowed veteran PE's during the beginning stages of a high profile $145,000,000 project at FE Warren. During my internship I was constantly tasked with verifying specifications on the contract to ensure the contracting entity performing construction was operating within the correct boundaries of the contract they were awarded. Tasks ranged from verifying that materials for construction were authorized/correct, looking over project blueprints, confirming requests made by the contractor were within the contract boundaries, and ensuring all safety requirements were being followed. Each day, trips were made to the job site. During these visits I observed the veteran PE's and took note of how they conducted themselves and ensured the job was progressing.

As a hiking/Rafting guide in Alaska, I was in charge of taking clients on trips daily down the Kenai River and through the Chugach Mountains. It was my responsibility to ensure the safety and satisfaction of the clients for as long as a trip might last. Usually ranging between 3-8 hours. I was required to be knowledgeable about the area both physically and factually. Groups of clients would range between 1-13 guests.

Served as a floor chief (3521) at 1st Marine Division, Headquarters Battalion, Truck Company. Along with basic duties as a Marine, I oversaw and assisted a platoon of Motor T Mechanics in the repair and maintenance of heavy, diesel powered vehicles.
