President/Co-Owner – Established company to provide Structural Engineering, Design, Project Management, Coordination, and Delivery of Buckling-Restrained Braces (BRB’s). Implemented strategic business plan, developed customer knowledge of the product, Presentations to various SE firms, product research, testing protocols, coordination of engineering, design, vendor contracts, and manufacturing of full-scale test specimens. Testing in compliance with the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) and AISC specifications. Performed Full-Scale testing of 300kp braces at UCSD Cal Trans Testing Facility. The displacement performance of BRB's was met or exceeded testing parameters. Prepared Fabrication & Erection specifications/procedures. Insured compliance with OSHPD and FEMA requirements, specific to the product. developed a non-shrink grout mix to minimize shrinkage during the curing process.

Managed multiple commercial and industrial projects located in California utilizing Thai-Herrick fabricated steel. Projects, including Disney Concert Hall, Moscone Center Expansion ad Mission Bay Children Hospital for UCSF.Planned and organized project teams, assigned, and worked with sub-vendors.Scheduled and monitored specific shop and field activities. Developed and submitted customer submittals, product flow, and completion. Utilized and coordinated subcontractors in Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Korea, and Canada.Tracked change orders and updated project values.Organized all "inbound" Break Bulk & Container shipments to West Coast; Port of Long Beach, Port of San Francisco, and Port of Stockton, California. Performed Quality control inspections at various points during the detailing, fabrication & erection process. Overseas and stateside. Troubleshot all structural field repairs and implemented field repair procedures, calculated man-hours, material cost, and testing.Review any and all design revisions for project cost impact. Prepared and implemented project cost, man-hours for add/deducts.Reviewed and approved all non-destructive testing for steel. Radiograph; Ultra-Sonic; Mag particle; Dye Penetrant.Reviewed plans for the new Kuwait U.S. Embassy and allocated resources.

Managed and developed Unit Prices for Heavy Industrial projects in preparation of estimates. Worked with clients, Bechtel, Flour Daniel, Black & Veach directly with sales to establish ongoing projects based on unit pricing. In some cases, we provided all steel fabrication requirements based on unit prices to form a partnership/alliance on all projects going forward. This bypassed the estimating phase and cost was deterermined from weights on BOM. In general all projects were industrial and located globally ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 tons.
