I am an experimental physicist with a love of experiments, data analysis, programming, statistics, optics & lasers, and experimental quantum mechanics. A generalist with results in a very narrow field.Throughout my master's and PhD projects in the Quantop group at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, I have been working on cutting edge quantum optics experiments, allowing me to work with a wide array of experimental techniques and given me a strong technical background for all round problem solving, as well as strong analytical and data handling skills.On the experimental side, my work on cold atom experiments and quantum optomechanics has given me extensive experience with all round optical setups, diode and Ti:Sapph lasers, optical modulation, design and implementation of optical resonators and filters, fibers, various locking schemes, FPGA based experimental control, cryogenic and vacuum equipment, data acquisition, interfacing with equipment, etc.On the data side, numerical analysis and simulation/modelling, as well as statistical analysis with emphasis on parameter estimation, are my strongest skills. I have strong python skills, with some exposure to other languages, including Matlab, Java, Mathematica, and superficial knowledge of things like C.I greatly appreciate working in a team, with shared immediate goals, and collaborating on finding and implementing new solutions for hard problems. This includes cooperating closely with people with various backgrounds, including fellow physicists (both experimentalists and theoreticians), technicians, external suppliers, students, etc., all of which require different explanations of the problems at hand.My PhD project focused on the optomechanical (ie., the coupling of light and mechanical motion) part of a hybrid quantum experiment, which demonstrated the quantum entanglement of a silicon nitride membrane and the collective spin of an ensemble of cesium atoms. This cutting edge result was published in Nature Physics.
