Tasked in transforming and streamlining the manufacturing operations and the supply chain to meet an unprecedented demand growth. • Converted 4 product/production lines from traditional batch manufacturing to single-piece flow and other lean hybrid models. • Completely transformed the production work areas using six sigma and lean tools by utilizing lean coaching, Kaizens, value stream mapping, and Gemba walks, large-scale changes to inventory flow, process flow, WIP management, and schedules, resulted in over 300% throughput increases and cycle time reductions of 80%. • Managed very complex supply chain issues to match and maintain inventory levels and synchronized the supply chain with all large-scale improvements. Managed and designed all aspects from strategy creation to design, project management of the business entity formation, startup, and general management of the Suzhou China Plant. Innovations and competitive advantages included product design utilizing DFMA to a complete lean manufacturing strategy. • Created a new LEAN IP concept was developed and implemented called LEAN IP Protection that safeguards against theft of IP in high risk countries. Resulting in zero IP escapes to China. • Built ethically compliant relationships with the Chinese to foster positive results in implementation of an on-time and under budget business launch by approaching all business relationships with an awareness and focus on sensitivities to local Chinese culture and business traditions. These relationships had significant improvements to project timelines and costs.• The eastern hemisphere manufacturing supply chain was developed and launched ahead of schedule and under budget. Utilizing lean manufacturing and lean six sigma best practices stringent control systems allowed for impeccable quality performance, zero HSE incidence, streamlined operational business management, and a highly profitable P&L performance.

• Supported all worldwide manufacturing for the Hughes Christensen division producing PDC diamond, tricone, and CNC machined steel body drill bits for the oil and gas industry with engineering and lean manufacturing functions. Machines used were Mazak, Mori Seiki, Doosan, and Cincinnati.• Worked with vendors and local experts to design and develop a waterjet blasting machine to reduce processing time, improve safety, and improve the working environment. Improves total clean-out time from 4 hrs to 20 min conservatively for a 91.6% reduction in processing time and equal capacity improvement while eliminating identifiable safety risks that had 7 recordable incidents in the past.• Worked with a team to evaluate & test the use of new nano-bond braze technology and materials, leading to patented technology.• Worked with a team to design and develop a new product offering to compete in the Eastern Hemisphere and to gain more market share. The team reduced production costs by approx 60% while maintaining high performance and quality standards as well as with built-in intellectual property protection elements.• Managed a team to design and develop a low-cost single furnace that performs the preheat, furnacing, and cooling cycles of the PDC diamond bit furnacing process into one operation that eliminates the need to move hazardous high-temperature parts. The new furnace cost reduction is $675K and the design is patented.• Designed a manufacturing facility and strategy to produce PDC drill bits in China. This innovative manufacturing strategy allows the manufacturing of PDC bits at the demand of the customer utilizing a hybrid lean strategy. This strategy maintains a zero-day lead-time for statistically popular products and an 8-day lead-time for the remaining.

• Manufacturing engineer for Parker Hannifin's Aerospace Division supporting Welding, NDT, Heat Treatment, Chemical Processing, Tube Bending, CNC machining, and Assembly. Gained accreditation with NADCAP and sat as a Prime Committee member on the Welding, Chemical Process, and Heat Treatment groups.
