Improves total clean-out time from 4 hrs to 20 min conservatively for a 91.6% reduction in processing time and equal capacity improvement while eliminating identifiable safety risks that had 7 recordable incidents in the past.• Worked with a team to evaluate & test the use of new nano-bond braze technology and materials, leading to patented technology.• Worked with a team to design and develop a new product offering to compete in the Eastern Hemisphere and to gain more market share. The team reduced production costs by approx 60% while maintaining high performance and quality standards as well as with built-in intellectual property protection elements.• Managed a team to design and develop a low-cost single furnace that performs the preheat, furnacing, and cooling cycles of the PDC diamond bit furnacing process into one operation that eliminates the need to move hazardous high-temperature parts. The new furnace cost reduction is $675K and the design is patented.• Designed a manufacturing facility and strategy to produce PDC drill bits in China. This innovative manufacturing strategy allows the manufacturing of PDC bits at the demand of the customer utilizing a hybrid lean strategy. This strategy maintains a zero-day lead-time for statistically popular products and an 8-day lead-time for the remaining. -
