Based in combinational project and field service engineering role at Schneider Electric for it's KNX Smart Space Division. During the course of the role, I got hands on practical experience working inside electrical panels, programming field devices and fault finding in the field. I was also involved during the full project cycle of delivering commercial lighting projects writing the software, program managing and managing electrical contractors while on site during the onsite deployment and commissioning phase of the projectsIn addition to my main role I was also helping to develop innovations and new solutions to the team including helping to develop an emergency lighting test solution, and additional software utilities for the engineers to help speed up the production cycle for new projects.Other main activities include:Commissioning and programming heating control systems that use a mixture of field devices communicating using Modbus, BACnet and KNX protocols.Field service pre preventive maintenance (PPMS) for Smart lighting KNX/DALI lighting systems.Recommissioning DALI lighting systems for sites switching over to LED light fittings to save both energy and money.Power Monitoring Expert Server upgrades and head end customer graphics upgrades.I am also a Schneider Regional Employee Partnership Forum (REPF) representative for the company. In this extra role alongside my day role, I utilise use my large network across the early careers and field engineering networks to feedback the most pressing issues across the region that people are facing up the business via the national forum. In this subsidiary role I act as as a liaison for issues facing employees and feed down information as required by the role.

During my university studies I had the opportunity to gain practical experience through an industrial placement at Roll-Royce.I was a member of the Electronics Test Engineering Department and worked on the delivery of an automated test rig. The purpose of this rig was to ensure that the Electronic Engine Controllers (EECs) were in compliance with the required test specifications before they were deployed for use in engines.

During these placements, I designed and constructed a range of analog and digital circuits that met the project's specifications, budget, and time constraints. Through this work, I gained valuable experience with circuit simulation tools, PCB design tools, circuit testing equipment, and had some exposure to LabView.In addition to my work at the company, I was also involved with my Scholarship foundation, helping to promote electronics to young people through nationwide events. I also attended a 4-day residential Scholarship Workshop at the University of York, which focused on personal development and networking. The workshop covered various topics such as effective communication, project management, career goal setting, and negotiation skills. The week culminated in a presentation to a panel of judges, where we presented our solution to a real-world problem.
