Major development projects include:• New Family of POS Keyboards (2006 – 2008) • Modular design to minimize number of unique devices and reduce manufacturing overhead. • First use of ARM microcontroller in IBM Retail Store Solutions IO products• Cart Mounted Consumer Service Device (2004 - 2005) • Tablet computer, X86, Linux, embedded browser, docked to a shopping card to assist shopper and allow scan as you go • Bluetooth scanner paired by docking interface• Smart Card Terminal (2001 – 2002) • Custom design committed to major retailer. First Smart card or payment terminal for IBM Retail Store Solutions • As a result of issues during the vendor development process I had to learn the smart card and EMV technologies and assume a lead role in the development.
