About C. Rees
My most recent publications can be found at this link: https://linktr.ee/c.reesI am an eco-poet, writer, and educator who completed an MFA in writing at the New Writers Project in Austin, TX. I have worked as a public high school teacher, lead undergraduate workshops, as a part of the Bat City Review editorial collective, and as a prisoner's rights advocate with the NYPL and the Texas After Violence Project. As a writer, I am concerned with bringing complex phenomena to the human level: global climate change, extinction, radioactivity. My work excavates the intersections between trauma and emergent landscapes, the contamination and contagion of violence, and lineage and complicity in rural settings. They fuse elements of speculative, horror, fabulist genres to explore the sediment of idealized “idyllic” places to get at the strange, and often terrible, things that occur within them.
