About C. Ryan Griffith, Ph.D.

C. Ryan Griffith, Ph.D. is a Leadership Development Consultant at Conext. He possess expertise in teaching, public speaking, higher education, theology, leadership development and 34 more skills. He is proficient in Classical Hebrew and Greek, Koine. Colleagues describe him as "Ryan’s contribution to Bethlehem College and Seminary is vast and impossible to fittingly summarize. As my supervisor and colleague for six years, he led our team of four in founding and building an innovative, interdisciplinary Associate of Arts program. Simultaneously, Ryan taught a range of subjects, took a leading role in building the administrative structure of the college, assisted in the design and launch of BCS’s two undergraduate majors, and invested enormous amounts of time mentoring and counseling students. These are only some of his contributions. Ryan’s personality and character, in addition to his talents and skills, have shaped the college, making it a place of both rigor and warmth, intellectual curiosity and prayer, inspiration and sobriety. His gifts as a teacher, excellence as an administrator, and generosity and wisdom as a counselor would make him an asset to any college faculty with a commitment to undergraduate teaching. However, what truly makes Ryan stand out is his profound sense of loyalty to people and to the mission of the institution. This quality brings all his other gifts and virtues into harmony. It’s why Bethlehem College so deeply bears his stamp, and why his colleagues and students feel such gratitude and affection for him. I’m personally most grateful for the way Ryan led our faculty team in the Associate of Arts program. He encouraged us to innovate and constantly improve our programs, welcoming new ideas and debate, while always keeping our efforts focused on our main goal: the spiritual and intellectual nurture of disciples of Christ, preparing them for service in their vocations, whether in the church or in the world. His leadership, support, and respect for his colleagues’ ideas played a major role in making my experience at BCS uniquely satisfying. For any college seeking faculty who, in addition to making significant contributions to their disciplines, are loyal colleagues and make a difference in students’ whole lives, I couldn’t recommend Ryan more highly.", "I have known and worked with Ryan Griffith for eleven years, several of those years as his supervisor, all of those years as his partner in ministry. I witnessed first hand his sharp mind as a graduate student, then marveled at his transition from student to core leader. The impact for good that he has had on Bethlehem College & Seminary and Bethlehem Baptist Church has been profound. We have had the joy of co-laboring together with the larger Bethlehem team in the establishment of a church-based fully accredited college and seminary. Ryan played a crucial role in the creation of our one-of-a-kind associate of arts degree program and managed the academic team as they taught and refined the program from year to year. One of the truly remarkable aspects to Ryan’s leadership was that while he was pouring his life into the design of the program, he was actively engaged both in the classroom and deeply involved in the lives of the students. Ryan poured his energy and gifts into his role as team leader, managing and caring for the faculty under his supervision as Director of Undergraduate Studies and of the Integrated Curriculum. He also used his gifts as a team-player in academic administration (policies, accreditation, student-life) and as a faculty member who has significantly contributed to the shaping of our liberal arts educational vision. He is deeply respected and appreciated by the faculty and by the leadership of the church. In addition to all this Ryan is a gifted and careful scholar and writer and preacher. Because of his love for discipleship he has devoted his energies to shaping the College and its students when he might have otherwise devoted it to scholarship and publication. The gifts Ryan has brought to this endeavor are many. First of all, he is a living example of the kind of servant we are seeking to produce. His devotion to putting the needs of others before his own has inspired me (and many others!) again and again. He is definitely a man of high compassion and sterling character. But what I have appreciated most is his gift of leadership. He is not only a visionary, but he is an implementer. He is a strategic thinker and a practical do-er. He is a teacher, a counselor, a disciple-maker, a team-builder, and a player/coach extraordinaire.", and "Ryan Griffith is an exceptionally conscientious and competent leader who is directly responsible for creating the four-year liberal arts college at Bethlehem College and Seminary. Under Ryan’s capable leadership, he has successfully led in developing one of the most extraordinary undergraduate programs featuring a rigorous, cross-disciplinary curriculum rooted in great ideas, great authors and the liberal arts, and focused on the holistic development of the student. Ryan is a faithful servant, a visionary and strategic leader, and a remarkable gift to the church and the academy."

Listed skills include Teaching, Public Speaking, Higher Education, Theology, and 35 others.
