I have always been interested in how and why things work. Since high school I have been drawn toward engineering as a career path and personal interest. The fact that ‘the more I learn, the more I realise I don’t know’ keeps me perpetually interested in broadening my knowledge of science and engineering. As I progressed through my engineering degree I was exposed to a diverse range civil branches and found myself gravitating toward the construction industry, with a keen interest in transportation and structural systems.I am continually developing my leadership and teamwork skills and put this into practice by running teams at work. I am understanding of varying academic, social and work ethic levels amongst my colleagues and use my emotional intelligence and positive attitude to help teach, motivate and engage those whom I am working with. As I set out on my career journey I have my sights set on becoming a successful engineer and businessman and I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. I am enthusiastic to learn and contribute to the civil engineering field, whether it be through study, being a part of a team at work, or as a mentor for the next generation. Throughout my career I hope to improve infrastructure for the benefit of today’s society and future generations while also contributing to the broader field of engineering in any way possible. I completed my Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree with First Class Honours in November, 2016. Since graduating I have been lucky enough to work on a variety of exciting projects such as the Hobart Airport Runway Extension, Melbourne Airport Taxiway Alpha Overlay, CityLink Tulla Widening Project and M80 Ring Road Upgrade. I am currently in my second year of full time employment with Fulton Hogan, based out of Ballarat.
