Leading Amref Health Africa’s eHealth portfolio and “intrapreneur in residence”. Developing commercially viable innovative solutions that impact people's lives. Grew the Program from a one-country, one-project, US$0.5M annual budget to a regional program, with over 15 projects and an average annual budget of approximately US$5M in the span of 7 years. Led the team that implemented the pioneering eLearning program for nurses in Kenya, which significantly impacted the delivery of sustainable and cost-effective training for health workers in low resource settings. This Program is being replicated in multiple countries across Africa. Led Amref Health Africa’s HELP (now LEAP) mHealth solution from conceptualization, requirements elicitation, partner identification and management, business modelling, fund raising, contracting, solution building, user acceptance testing, rollout, evaluation, and reporting. Based on the successful proof of concept, LEAP has since transitioned to a social enterprise model.

Full P&L leadership responsibility for this Kes.100M technology firm. Mange vendor relationships, perform risk assessments against planned milestones, merge capital expenditures and coordinate external dependencies. Valued member of the senior executive team, contributing a broad-based perspective to create pragmatic IT strategies and implementation plans designed to maximise returns at the lowest possible costs. Leading development and evaluation of new information technologies for their potential application to business processes.

Responsible for guiding management towards products and services that meet with NairobiNet’s corporate priorities. Responsible for project management, performance measurement, cost control and schedule analysis, cash flow projections, customer reporting and presentations. Researched, recommended and implemented various pioneering internet-based products and services into the Kenyan market including electronic learning (eLearning), leading to NairobiNet being awarded the “Most Innovative Service Provider” award by the Computer Society of Kenya in 2002.
