IIEP helps strengthen the capacity of countries to plan and manage their education systems for a more equal and sustainable future.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation partnered with CPRL to conduct a two-year formative evaluation of their Networks for School Improvement strategy. Networks aim at improving Black, Latino and low-income students’ outcomes across the US. • Designed questionnaires and coding scheme for effective collection and analysis of qualitative data • Conducted field observations with network participants • Analyzed data collected from documents and observations using Nvivo software• Drafted report to assess progress made towards the evaluation• Reported results to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

The IRI launched the ACToday project “Adapting Agriculture to Climate Today for Tomorrow”, a project spanning over six countries identified as highly vulnerable to climate hazards. The end-objective being to build strong climate capacity to ensure food security. • Elaborated a project plan to conduct research• Built relationships with stakeholders• Set two field trips to rural areas across the country• Designed extensive questionnaires to collect information• Conducted over 50 interviews with government officials, farmers’ union representatives, NGOs and farmers• Reported results to IRI and local partners

• Adopted engaging teaching methodologies to elicit students’ interest and train their critical thinking;• Carried out multi-year projects to reinforce students' creativity and curiosity in various fields such as film and writing; these projects resulted in the writing of four novels and the production of thirteen short films;• Provided academic and motivational support to students in close collaboration with counseling and administrative staff;• Trained economics teacher in classroom control, time management, course planning and adherence to curriculum; • Contributed to school budgeting and planning decisions, represented teachers’ community as an elected member of the Board; regularly met with parents and school administration in a professional capacity to improve students’ participation and reinforced parents-school ties.
