My current assignment gives me huge opportunity to improve the after sales services of Indian Railways mostly of Claims & refunds .It is quite challenging to contest the court cases to protect Indian Railways interests in different judicial forums such as Railway Claims Tribunals ,High Court and Supreme Court .I am finding my present job most interesting with focus on e office while managing 60 odd ministerial staff,Law Assistants,and Commercial Inspector s .

Monitored various traffic facility ,doubling,new line and other related works to improve the mobility in one of the most Saturated Zones of Indian Railways i.e South East Central Railway . Focus on commissioning private Sidings& new stations , last mile connectivity to Power houses and Coal mines ,grade separators,Fly overs, Automatic Signalling ,exhorting the Engg / Construction dept to maximize sectional speeds was also done to remove the capacity constraints of SECR so that it can handle 200 Million Tonnes in near future.

Overall incharge of the Operations of Passenger and Suburban trains . Responsible for achieving Punctuality of the coaching trains though looks easily achievable but challenging in the wake of running of them in the most Saturated sections of Indian Railways one of them being Howrah - Mumbai . Number of Citizen centric efforts were done such as augmenting coaching trains with additional coaches . Timetabliing is another activity in which efforts were made to speed up number of Express trains along with revision of passenger train timings introduction of new trains and increasing the frequency of services was also done along with Movement of Inspection carriages ,Parcel vans. Monitoring Division s for Prompt and immediate action on asset failure with focus on prevention of asset failures with due coordination of colleague officers.Humam resource management of the operation s Dept Group C& D staff ,Addressing Public grievances of Hon'ble MP,MLA, Passenger s at large Implementation and Operation of COIS are some of the activities worth mentioning while discharging the assignment as CPTM

Responsible for all commercial and operational functions of all terminals in North Central Region.Monitors and controls of all Terminal handling operations with analysis of equipment /wagons/containers usage and requirement based on projected growth in throughput /projection

Implementation and monitoring of passenger traffic related IT projects,Passenger Profile Management,etc

Interacted with the Industry who wish to set up rail infrastructure in their premises for transporting their raw materials and finished products and instrumental in commissioning of their Private sidings and ensured rail connectivity to them.

Joined in IOCL(MarketingDivision) at Chennai in 1987.Subsequently moved to Jamshedpur and Durgapur.Worked as operations officer and safety officer at LPG plant Durgapur .Took VR in 1990 to prepare for Civil Services
