I am a ceramic artist focused on using our Lake Michigan beach sand with porcelain. I create both functional and sculpturally functional art. In 2011, I opened C2C Gallery. We represented more than 30 artists in a variety of mediums. We hosted monthly First Friday Art Exhibits with local live music. The goal was to introduce West Michigan to a wide selection of art. Organized an annual high school art show exhibiting throughout the downtown shopping district. Plus, worked with GH school administration for several years to bring all Grand Haven fourth graders downtown for a day of “alternative” learning. We focused on math, writing, art, dance, reading, and history. Community involvement: Berlin Vermont School Board: Executive committee and the negotiations committee for six years. Vermont Clay Studio Board member. Westra Bye Memorial Art Foundation. Grand Haven Main Street board and executive committee. GH ArtWalk Committee. Lakeshore Visual Arts Committee volunteer. 15 years in Banking and Investments. Other non-profits through out the years. Ceramic courses completed across North America and internationally.
