During my articleship at PKF Sridhar and Santhanam LLP, I had the opportunity to engage deeply in both internal and statutory audits, which provided me with a comprehensive understanding of audit processes and financial regulations. My role involved:Internal Audits: Conducting thorough assessments of various departments and business functions to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies, and operational efficiency. I developed and executed audit plans, identified risk areas, and provided actionable recommendations to enhance internal control systems.Statutory Audits: Participating in statutory audits required to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. I was involved in the review of financial statements, tested transactions, and verified the accuracy and completeness of financial records. This experience sharpened my skills in adhering to accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.ICFR Testing: Gaining hands-on experience in Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) testing, which involved assessing the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting processes. This included identifying control weaknesses and working closely with teams to implement improvements.SOP Preparation: Assisted in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clients, ensuring that processes were standardized, efficient, and aligned with best practices. This experience honed my ability to create clear, concise, and effective procedural documentation.RCM Preparation: Contributed to the preparation of Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) by identifying potential risks and mapping controls to mitigate them. This involved working closely with clients to understand their risk landscape and ensuring that controls were appropriately designed and implemented.My tenure at PKF Sridhar and Santhanam LLP equipped me with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid foundation in auditing principles and practices. I am adept at identifying risk factors, enhancing control mechanisms, and ensuring regulatory compliance, which I am eager to leverage in future roles to drive financial integrity and operational excellence.
