Alexandre Caboussat has graduated from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) with a MS degree in applied mathematics. He has then obtained his PhD in applied mathematics and scientific computing from EPFL. He has recently obtained an executive MBA from EPFL, oriented on harnessing innovation. With a background in mathematical engineering , Alexandre Caboussat has been the chairman of the International Business Management department at HEG between 2013 and 2021, and is currently an associate professor of management science at HEG. His research activities include the analysis and implementation of practical and innovative solutions for the solution and optimization of complex systems, at the interface between academics and industry. His fields of research include scientific computing , applied mathematics, optimization, machine learning, and industrial and environmental applications. He is managing research projects and supervising PhD students and scientific collaborators. His administrative duties consist in program management and coordination both at the Bachelor and executive levels. These programs are oriented on digital transformation and innovation. His teaching activities include general courses in mathematics and statistics at the Bachelor level, as well as more specialized courses in quantitative methods, data analysis, numerical analysis, scientific computing and optimization at the BSc, MS and executive levels, and many seminar presentations.
