Mayra Alejandra is an Advisor for the BIT Americas and she works in the application of behavioral insights to generate and communicate effective, human-centered policies and programs in a variety of issues, such as early childhood development, financial inclusion, gender, reduced regulatory burden, mobility and road safety.Prior to BIT, as Executive Director for Mobility Culture and Communications for Mobility in Mexico City, she implemented behavioral insights to promote the usage of mass transit and sustainable transportation as well as behavioral changes amongst motor vehicle drivers. This contributed to the transformation of the user experience in a transport network that carries almost 20 million trips a day.She holds an MPP from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Affairs from CIDE in Mexico, and has prior experience in applied research at the Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab in Chicago and at Mexico’s National Laboratory of Public Policy. She’s also been an advisor in social welfare, poverty, and social entrepreneurship in Mexico and Thailand.
