CACP is a research and policy development unit at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus on advanced communications. Areas of expertise include wireless communications and platforms; the needs of people with disabilities; disaster communications; innovation in local government; international comparative policy analysis; and new communication modes, including social networking, virtual worlds, open source process and publishing, and electronic games. CACP's approach is impartial. It encompasses monitoring and assessing legislative and regulatory issues, identifying future options, and developing a clearer understanding of the ever changing technology landscape. Our core of researchers and engineers work with a wide range of stakeholders at the municipal, state, regional, national and international levels.CACP collaborates with key stakeholders including industry leaders, leading research centers, legislative and regulatory bodies, and nonprofits to address a wide range of advanced communications policy issues and related technology applications, particularly in the wireless and new technology arenas. Our programs and research initiatives range from the development of information and communications technology (ICT) policy to horizon scanning of significant public sector activities, with the aim of enhancing Georgia's contribution to national and international policy research agendas. CACP produces and hosts events in Atlanta, as well as traveling nationally and internationally to present the research outputs of the faculty and staff. Addtionally,CACP addresses a wide range of advanced communications policy issues and related technology applications, particularly in the wireless and new technology arenas.
