I’ve spent 10 years developing feature rich backend services for large scale applications servicing millions of users. Object oriented backend microservice programming in Java has been my first love since college, but since being introduced to Kotlin I’m finding myself leaning toward its simpler syntax and enhanced readability. Writing well-documented and easily-testable code that is extremely performant, exceptionally easy to read and understand, and super simple to debug (in the rare case it has one) has been my passion that I’ve dedicated over a decade trying to perfect.In addition to developing I have a few years of experience in people, team, and project management. While I never stopped programming entirely I found I genuinely enjoyed helping people navigate and grow their careers, mentoring junior engineers and new hires, and working hand-in-hand with product owners and other team leaders to shape and guide the long-term direction of my team.
