Caden Moskowitz, previously worked as an Investment Analyst at Mantis VC, graduated UC Berkeley with a degree in Venture Capital Business & Social Entrepreneurship. He is the founding partner of EdgeCase Capital Partners, a pre-seed/seed venture capital company that writes $25-50k checks to early and angel-stage startups run by students and/or young entrepreneurs. EdgeCase looks for those “edge case” startups with winning management teams and cutting-edge ideas that positively impact their communities.Caden pivoted into the VC space by leveraging revenue from a company he solo-founded during his COVID-sophomore year at Berkeley. The startup was called Blue Ember Group, a fast-growing social media company that runs systems to monetize the intellectual property of high-profile internet influencers. It was grown to $1M ARR within 3 months. The marketing business is still profitable today and has generated millions in revenue. BEG added a credit card processing division and a private label company. Blue Ember funds an investment per month for EdgeCase and was completely bootstrapped.EdgeCase was a personal investment vehicle but quickly evolved into a growing network of deal flow and university scouts. Through the EdgeCase Associates Program, we were able to establish roots at the top universities in the nation. EdgeCase currently has hundreds of active university students tracking top talent and deal flow from their universities and alumni networks.In the non-profit world, Caden is passionate about using his resources and education to target helping the victims of human trafficking in the Sea of Thailand. With this goal in mind, Caden and his partners at MAST (Bangkok, Thailand) created the MAST Human Intelligence App, a tool that combines crowd-sourcing, physical triangulation technology, and artificial intelligence to both prevent people from falling victim to traffickers and use predictive behavior analysis to catch traffickers in the act. Caden’s in-the-trenches efforts were featured in Melissa Birchfield’s book, “Data For Dignity,” about the intersection of human trafficking prevention and modern technology. This past September 2022, Caden presented his program to two United Nations agencies and the 90 member countries of the Bali Process conference.Additionally, Caden has interned at the prestigious Bromberg Group at Morgan Stanley, Draper Associates, is the author of Life During Coronavirus (June 2020), and is an accomplished musician on drums.
