I work in wildland fire public education & outreach, vegetation management inspections, project development, grant writing and project management. My expertise is in Defensible Space and Home Hardening. My passion is in inspiring residents to do what they need to do to adapt homes and landscapes to a wildfire-prone environment. My current projects are coordination of a county-wide Fire Agency Defensible Space Inspection Program, and project management of two FEMA grants, The first is an update of the county-wide Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Second, the 'Wildfire Adapted Sonoma County' project includes Defensible Space Inspections, Structure Hardening assessment and recommendations, and provides financial incentives to help residents get the work done. I have been working in the field of wildland fire and public education for more than twenty years. As a life-long resident of California's Wildland Urban Interface, I have a deep understanding of the challenges facing residents across the state.
