Taxi and Limousine Inspectors perform regulatory, enforcement, investigatory,and inspectional duties required in the regulation of the taxi and limousine industry; and may be required to workrotating tours or shifts, including nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, depending upon the needs of theservice.When Assigned to Enforcement Duties: While on foot or radio motor patrol, Taxi and Limousine Inspectorsvisually inspect exterior and interior of For-Hire vehicles and their facilities for conformity with establishedstandards, law, regulations and physical specifications. They issue summonses for non-conformance or noncompliancewith rules, regulations and related laws, codes, etc. governing personal conduct and operation ofFor-Hire vehicles and facilities; they may detain and/or arrest violators.When Assigned to Vehicle Inspection Duties: Taxi and Limousine Inspectors perform motor vehicleinspections on For-Hire passenger vehicles in accordance with Taxi and Limousine Commission Rules andRegulations, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles requirements and federally mandated emissionscontrol specifications; check vehicles for serviceability, cleanliness and safety; issue certificates of inspectionfor vehicles inspected; and, operate motor vehicles and/or motorized and computerized equipment in theperformance of assigned duties.Some of the physical activities performed by Taxi and Limousine Inspectors and environmental conditionsexperienced are: employing self-defense tactics and handcuffing techniques, sitting and walking for long periodsof time, driving, bending and crawling, in all types of weather.

* Greets, directs and escorts patient, family members and visitors to appropriate locations.* Communicates with bed management to schedule admissions and bed assignments. Maintains daily census sheet.* Enters patient information into department computer system to record pertinent information. Ensures face sheets and addressograph plates are prepared in a timely manner.* Assembles initial patient chart upon admission, notifies responsible nurse, attending physician, and house staff of patients arrival. Documents actions in patient chart.* Schedules appointments, ancillary tests, and special procedures, as needed.* Transcribes and enters orders into department computer system.* Receives and reviews radiology test orders for completion. Enters complete orders into appropriate computer system.* Adds reports received to patients chart and keeps the appropriate healthcare team leader informed. Performs chart review to ensure all forms are labeled, assembled and adds forms appropriately.* Notifies appropriate physician of transfers and consults with documentation.* Answers patient call light via call system console in coordination with other nursing personal. * Recognizes discharges as stat orders and assists in discharge process.* Enters discharge orders into computer.* Assembles and prints discharge material, as required.* Enters bed vacancy in computer upon discharge, expiration or transfer.* Communicates with patients and families, and confirms and/or secures patients transportation.* Notifies Admitting of expirations and forwards patient charts to Medical Records within established timeframe.* Reports equipment needing repair and initiates work orders.* Photocopies and maintains supply of pertinent forms specific to unit.* Performs routine clerical tasks including, but not limited to, answering phones, providing information, directing calls, taking messages, filing and faxing information, and maintaining bulletin boards.
