So we did a second round of funding... and I was tired of commuting... so I volunteered to move the Fam. to NYC and live the life... the only problem was the "Dot Com Bomb"... The first thing I did was to lay off most of the staff... painful, but educational, like so many things in life... glad I did it... glad it's over... back to San Diego.

While at cyberworks wrote the business plan for Working Woman Communications, which published Working Woman and Working Mother magazines, ran the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) and the Business Women's Institute (BWI)... and, at one point, Ms. Magazine. The plan got funded and the VC's insisted on someone to implement the interactive/web strategy... I commuted from San Diego to NYC for a year...

Cyberworks was an early pioneer in the Southern California website development biz. Some firsts included streaming video live from the US Open of Surfing, one of the first (the second?) web banner ads, and a number of large websites and applications. Among a variety of "interesting" projects, ask me what it was like to start and run 3 online casinos, the first online multi-level marketing program and to get bought out by a gambling company...

AKA Inter@ctivate Consulting Group back in the day ;-)Inter@ctivate was an incredibly successful interactive strategy consulting company, profitable from day 1, that provided strategic guidance for companies trying to get their arms around the new "Web Thing." Some key successes included The San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, the San Diego Padres, and the California Avocado Commission, where we integrated the Web with outdoor (Billboard) advertising, TV and radio -- one of the first really integrated marketing strategies.

Now SiteLab, International. At Bien Logic we had two lines of business, Surf Report, which was one of the early website traffic tracking applications, and custom website development/publishing. A couple highlights include: One of the first million dollar websites, for SDGE, one of the early leading website directories, PlanetEarth, and a raft of really early corporate/consumer websites.
