Planned, executed, supervised, and evaluated services necessary to preserve and protect the health of Soldiers and their families in order to increase readiness. Procured and managed a budget of more than $350,000 per year in mission and reimbursable funds. Maintained and accounted for more than $100,000 worth of equipment and supplies.

Grafenwoehr, Germany

Commander of a forward-deployed, ten-Soldier medical detachment providing tactical preventive medicine (PM) capabilities. Led, trained, and safely executed unit operations involving environmental sampling, water quality, food service and field sanitation, pest surveillance and control, industrial hygiene consultations, and medical threat briefs. Deployed unit to Normandy, France in June 2004 to provide PM support for the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. From April 2005 to April 2006 deployed with unit to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VI. Responsible for command stewardship of more than $750,000 of equipment and a $30,000 command operating budget.

Taught Physical Geography and served as the course director and instructor for Physical Geology, Hydrogeology, and the Geology Field Course: a three-week summer course taught in Colorado. Served as the Officer-In-Charge for the cadet Orienteering Club and as an Assistant Branch Representative for the Medical Service Corps. Supervised five cadet independent study projects that focused on relevant, real world scientific assessments. Conducted research on the geology of the West Point region and utilization of groundwater in military operations.
