Maintenance Supervisor, C-5 Heavy MaintenanceUnited States Air Force Mar 2018 - May 2019Randolph Afb, Tx, UsI previously oversaw approximately 115 technicians composed of 11 separate aircraft maintenance specialties in a Heavy Maintenance environment known as the C-5 Major Isochronal Inspection Dock. Our facility is the only location in the Air Force that performs this inspection on C-5 aircraft. We were responsible for inspecting more than 50 aircraft in the fleet, spaced evenly in eight year cycles. I ensured the completion of over 22,000 inspections and discrepancies every year. My primary responsibility was to ensure that deadlines were met in our inspection process by keeping our sections on track and handling unforeseen problems that arise along the way. I am a problem solver and enjoy teaching others what they need to know to make difficult decisions. We completed a 47 day inspection for the first time in one year, which bested the 57 day maximum requirement, saving the Air Force over $1 Million. The team I led was crucial to this achievement as we reassembled the aircraft in the areas we are responsible for as well as portions of the aircraft in areas that are other teams' responsibility. Furthermore, my team alone completed more than half of the operational checks including the CF-6 maintenance engine runs. Finally, I taught a class titled "Aircraft Safe for Maintenance" to 53 personnel and increased the number of qualified personnel by 32%. This class covered the specific safety requirements that a technician must check before they can begin working on an aircraft. For example, are there serviceable fire bottles at the aircraft wing tips and are the brakes set on the ground support equipment so it does not roll into the aircraft? In this capacity, I also served as the Lockout/Tagout Manager for our hanger and I am responsible for ensuring the correct procedures are followed. I also reviewed the work logs for my specialty and ensured that discrepancies were signed off correctly and that the time taken to complete each task is annotated correctly. -
Shift Supervisor, C-5 Heavy Maintenance SupportUnited States Air Force Jan 2017 - Mar 2018Randolph Afb, Tx, UsI was the second shift supervisor for the C-5 Heavy Maintenance Tool Room. I directed the daily activities of nine personnel, three of which were on my shift. My primary duties were to oversee the issuance and return of 10,000 hand tools, Hazardous Materials, and precision measurement equipment items. We were required to have 100% accountability of all items at all times. Whenever a mistake was made, my job was to locate the tool. Thereafter, I would determine how the mistake was made, how we could avoid the mistake in the future, and then implement a plan to prevent it.During this time, I reviewed the 600 Hazardous Materials that we were responsible for and corrected all discrepancies ensuring 100% compliance and passing the annual Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control inspection. I also identified multiple items that were no longer used and removed them from our inventory, saving $1,800 annually. Additionally, I restructured our 159 Precision Measurement Equipment items, clearing 48 discrepancies, and reducing our inventory to save $850 annually.Lastly, my organization, consisting of six separate Tool Rooms including my own, was inspected by another organization and they found that our specific Tool Room was one of the best they had ever inspected. They labeled us as the benchmark Tool Room out of the six in our organization and recommended that the others follow our procedures. Consequently, I was responsible for developing a training plan that would go on to train 16 other Hazardous Material and Precision Measurement Equipment Managers. -

Frozen Food Manager/AssociateIngles Markets, Inc. Aug 2007 - May 2013Black Mountain, Nc, UsAs my first real job in high school, I started in the typical bag boy role and promoted to Frozen Food Manager while I was attending college. In addition to being a bag boy I was also a Cashier, Janitor, Stocker, and trainer for new employees. When I took over as the Frozen Food Manager we had a surplus of roughly 5000 items in the back storage freezer. After a few months I decreased this surplus to a much more manageable 250 items. My department became the benchmark for other stores and management would take pictures of my freezers to show other Frozen Food Managers what their freezers should look like. Whenever the Frozen Food Vice President for Ingles Markets would stop by our store, he rarely looked in my back freezer because he knew it was exactly how he wanted it.As a Frozen Food Manager I was responsible for ensuring the merchandise in the freezers remained stocked and that we did not run out, particularly when the item was on sale or around holidays. I made orders to restock the shelves and I was required to think ahead to ensure we did not run out before the next order arrived. I was also responsible for balancing the weekly financial order log as well as performing quarterly inventories.
