The Postal Inspection Service maintains a Security Force staffed by approximately 650 uniformed Postal Police Officers, who are assigned to critical postal facilities throughout the country. As a Postal Police Officer I am required to qualify with agency-issued shotguns and my assigned sidearm and am designated as a special police officer under Title 18.
