Ashley Hinckley Email and Phone Number
I am a very unique UX designer because I come from a psychology/research background while the majority come from a software background. I received a B.S. in Human Development from BYU which focused on the internal and external forces that make someone who they are. It gave me a strong foundation in research and studies as well as a robust education in User Psychology. Understanding people, empathizing with them and being able to look at the entire system that they come from is crucial for creating experiences that delight users and for understanding their core needs, which leads to useful and memorable products. As an undergraduate I participated in the Flourishing Families Project, which was a longitudinal research study that analyzed families relational functioning. I spent hours watching collected footage from interviews to catalog behavioral signals for senior researchers.During my M.S. in User Centered Design, I conducted a number of surveys and ethnographic studies to create user informed designs.I have created solutions and apps from inception to a finished product throughout my formal education, and have worked with several clients and volunteered my services as an independent contractor at various stages in the design process, meeting the client wherever they were.
