Cahyo Nugroho is an Indonesia Country Director at Fauna & Flora International. As the Country Director he leads on the strategic planning and development of the programme, proactively identifying funders and donors and developing relationships and partnerships to support a sustainable conservation programme in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region, in line with FFI’s mission, vision and strategic aims. Cahyo oversees programme and project implementation, ensuring sound operational and financial management and compliance with internal policies and procedures, contracts/grant agreements and relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.He has wide range experiences from oil palm companies, non-profit organization, consultant, and forestry sector. He has developed expertise in Management System, Sustainability Gap Analysis, Oil Palm Supply Chain Assessment, REDD+, Payment for Environmental Services, and Ecosystem Restoration Development.Prior to be promoted as a Country Director, he serves as a Deputy Country Director for 6 months. Previously, he served as a Business and Sustainable Technical Advisor at the same organization. He was managing projects related to Ecosystem Restoration, REDD+, and sustainable oil palm and agriculture. Prior to work as a Business & Sustainability Advisor, as an RSPO certified lead auditor, he provided consultancy on his expertise in the oil palm, agriculture and sustainability, worked in Daemeter Consulting as Sustainability Manager, worked in Fauna & Flora International as Sustainable Agriculture (Oil Palm) advisor for almost 4 years, and in oil palm companies for more than 5 years.

Cahyo Nugroho is a Deputy Country Director at Fauna & Flora International. As the Deputy Country Director he leads on the strategic planning and development of the programme, proactively identifying funders and donors and developing relationships and partnerships to support a sustainable conservation programme in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region, in line with FFI’s mission, vision and strategic aims. Cahyo oversees programme and project implementation, ensuring sound operational and financial management and compliance with internal policies and procedures, contracts/grant agreements and relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.

He is now managing projects related to Ecosystem Restoration, REDD+, and sustainable oil palm and agriculture. His main tasks are:• Managing FFI Indonesia’s existing business-related projects and strategically developing the Programme’s private sector engagement. • Actively participating in sector-level initiatives• Supporting FFI’s strategic thinking on business and biodiversity by inputting to FFI’s global programme. • Providing technical input relevant to the projects• Representing the project and FFI, as required, at national and international fora, including RSPO, UNFCCC and other initiatives. • Managing delivery of project activities and outputs according to the project contract, work plans and specific duties listed in project documentation. This includes administrative, financial, and day-to-day project management. • Managing the relationship with the partners, reporting the progress as required in a timely manner.• Identify and meet with key organizations who have undertaken work relating to the project.

Cahyo Nugroho provides consultancy on his expertise in sustainable palm oil. He is an RSPO certified lead auditor and has unique backgrounds as he has experience in oil palm companies and also nonprofit organization. Cahyo Nugroho has developed expertise in Management System, Sustainability Gap Analysis, Oil Palm Supply Chain Assessment, and REDD+. Prior to work as a consultant he worked with Daemeter Consulting as Sustainability Manager. In his previous experience, He worked in Fauna & Flora International as Sustainable Agriculture (Oil Palm) adviser for almost 4 years. He managed several projects related to Sustainable Palm Oil, Landscape Based High Conservation Value Forest, and REDD+ within oil palm concession. In oil palm companies, He worked as Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager in oil palm plantations for more than 5 years. He managed the development and implementation of Quality, Environment, and Health & Safety Management System.

In this consulting firm, his role is to manage smallholder development project in the new planting development at Daemeter’s client, reviewing due diligence of oil palm companies, and helping an NGO to develop project proposal.

• To oversee the assessment of HCVF at landscape level • To socialize RSPO to stakeholders • To facilitate the adoption of RSPO principles by private sector partners, smallholder and local government planner • Presenting project result in international forum• To lead REDD+ project to protect HCVF within and outside concessions.
