About Cailey Bronny
Cailey has been working with young people since 2010 amplifying youth voice at the intersections of child welfare, juvenile justice, and commercial sexual exploitation of children. As a two time recipient of the Clinton Global University Initiative she advocated for young people at the national and international level. She brings that expertise and exposure to California where she works with systems involved youth regarding policy and systems change. A proponent of youth voice, she provides training for organizational leadership on how to authentically engage young people in their own research, policy analysis, and program development.As the adult accomplice/co-founder of STREAT Team (Students Together Reducing Exploitation and Trafficking) which is a group of young survivors and youth allies who work to reduce the trafficking of juveniles in the Sacramento area, Cailey possess a great understanding of the juvenile and criminal justice systems and have used this to support young people throughout their journey. In 2018, STREAT Team members under Cailey’s leadership assisted in the passage of Board of Education Resolution 2979, which implements district wide services to CSEC within Sacramento City Unified. With a deep commitment to racial equity she is relentless in her advocacy that this work be rooted in centering the expertise and voices of impacted communities while addressing systemic and institutional racism in all spaces. Cailey is a member of the National Lawyers Guild and and is a legal observer of police actions. During her tenure as a grant programs manager Cailey assisted local and grassroots groups in advocating for state policy and investment reforms, with a focus on expanding CSEC support in Sacramento City Unified. Her experience in community organizing and inside/outside systems work has allowed her to broaden the scope of her leadership skills and expand youth and survivor voice into institutional and academic spaces where youth voice is often absent.
