I've spent the past 20+ years helping organisations build high-performing technology teams.My recruitment career started back in 2003 when I joined a small IT recruitment agency as a "greenie". After a few months of learning the ropes, experiencing the highs and lows, I began to find my groove — I specialised in placing high-level IT talent which enabled me to build an extensive, and trusted, network. My experiences in the early years fuelled my ambition to set up my own agency, one that was anchored in an ethically-driven approach — partnerships, not quick placements — I wanted to reshape the negative chatter around recruiters and promote trust. In 2007, at the ripe old age of 25, I took the leap and founded Stream Recruitment — it was a very steep learning curve. The 2008 financial crisis in the UK affected hiring budgets, however, IT talent remained in high demand and the tech skills gap widened substantially, setting up major recruitment challenges for CTOs and CIOs once growth resumed. I was ready for it. My approach is never "once and done". I haven't built up Stream Recruitment to deliver a conveyor belt of candidates for my clients of IT leads and CTOs who aren't going to make a positive impact.I'm at my best rolling up my sleeves, engaging directly with my clients (and their teams) in order to provided an unmatched level of personal attention. This partnering process is what makes the difference and the results that I achieve stand out from an already noisy recruitment sector. I'm proud that we've maintained our reputation for ethics and excellence from day one. One final thing, I relish the challenge of finding your unicorn, that seemingly unfillable role.Outside of work, I stay active playing cricket, football and enjoy snowboarding, motocross, and hiking the UK's peaks. I love to travel and explore new places with my partner of 14 years and our three wonderful children.
