In September 2024 I was fortune to be offered an opportunity to relocate to Perth WA to undertake the role of Property/Maintenance Manager for CHL. Curtin Heritage Living is a not-for-profit, community organization that has been providing services to older members of the western suburbs for over 45 years.

In the role of Grounds Manager, I am responsible for: Management of large apartment building grounds, 135 property gardens/groundsManagment of 22 acres of established a grounds/gardens (Including bowling green/croquet turf, pétanque court) Yearly scheduling of grounds/property staff Time managing projects & to specific budget requirements Completion of tool box & regular health and safety meetings Liaising with management/clients regarding properties Landscape design/renovation (ordering and delivery of plants and materials)General maintenance - Hedge trimming - Weeding - Hand pruning roses and various other flowering perennials - Weed eating and edging (both soft and hard) - Mowing (using both ride-on/tractor and hand) Since being at Fairview I have created new schedules/routines, built a creative design scheme to use in future years and built up the reputation of the department. The department now has a yearly maintenance schedule that includes planting, trimming, fertilising, spraying. I have also dedicated time to tutoring staff completing horticulture papers.
