The Herbert W. Hoover Foundation takes a leadership role in funding unique opportunities that provide solutions to issues related to the Community, Education, and the Environment.

• Provides sustainability campaign consulting to governments, including Miami Dade County and the cities of Coral Gables, North Bay Village, Miami Beach, and Hollywood• Engages corporate and NGO partners in plastic pollution initiatives, including Bacardi, Red Bull, WeWork, Lonely Whale, LUSH Cosmetics, Avnet, the US Olympic Sailing Team, and more• Eliminated over a million plastic items from the waste stream through consulting with iconic hospitality establishments• Developed user-friendly online tool for businesses to assess financial savings derived from eliminating single-use plastics from their operations• Official nonprofit partner that launched and currently manages the City of Miami Beach’s #plasticfreeMB certification initiative • Oversee sustainability consulting internship program and engages youth in sustainable business programming focused on materials and waste• Hosted over 200 community-building outreach events reaching over 10,000 people focused on eliminating single-use plastics from the waste stream• Recruited and managed over 6,000 volunteers removing over 40,000 pounds of trash from Miami’s streets, shorelines, and reefs• Educated over 10,000 south Florida students about marine debris during in-class presentations and workshops

FOFR is a support organization dedicated to conserving and protecting over 100 miles of vital coral reefs (directly offshore SE Florida between Miami-Dade and Martin Counties) by enhancing and complementing the critical efforts, programs and activities of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's ​Coral Reef Conservation Program.​

As a legal intern, I developed a legal strategy for litigation against the State of Hawaii to secure public access to a world-class surfing beach; I drafted contracts with international licensees protecting the Foundation's trademarks; and I filed an amicus brief to a public access law suit in Hawaii.

As a legal associate for the University of Florida's Conservation Clinic, I organized a team to counsel the Bahamian government regarding implementation of a marine zoning plan and land use and development opportunities. I also led discussions between government officials and local fishermen regarding conservation issues.

I served as a Teaching Assistant for two courses: (1) Legal Research and Writing and (2) Appellate Advocacy. In Legal Research and Writing, I was selected to tutor first year law students about the essentials of legal writing. In Appellate Advocacy, I was appointed to coach students on presentation of oral appellate arguments.

My research focused on how zoning regulations may result in taking issues in the wake of sea level rise, and I also published a case study about land use mechanisms historically used to mitigate coastal erosion.

As a legal intern, I analyzed the federal Clean Water Act and the Florida Water Resources Act and lobbied the South Florida Water Management District for land and water use changes.
