I’ve encouraged pain management with the application of manual therapy, as well as the use of appropriate modalities, such as- electric stimulation and ultrasound. Working amongst multiple buildings I maintain consistent communication with occupational therapy, as well as nursing staff, and physicians to ensure optimal care of every patient. Other responsibilities include frequent monitoring of vitals to confirm safe levels of oxygen saturation, pulse, and blood pressure throughout therapy sessions. Reason for the various employment status: multiple pregnancies, child births, and extended personal maternity leave, as well as a small business venture.

As a Traveling PTA during my time in Oregon I applied manual therapy to encourage increased range of motion, and to decrease pain. Daily responsibilities included; educating and instructing patients in proper body mechanics and techniques to prevent future injuries, communicating with evaluating Physical Therapist to ensure patient progress, and leading one on one aquatic therapy sessions to encourage increased strength and range of motion.

While working as a traveling PTA at the Garden Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, I worked alongside an elite team of healthcare workers. I administered specifically assigned therapeutic activities, gait training, and exercises to ensure patient's progress and return to functional daily living tasks. During my time here I managed delivery of oxygen through tracheostomy collar as well as application and detachment of the speaking valve upon request of the patient. Other responsibilities included implementing manual stretching and passive range of motion, as well as proper positioning techniques to enhance quality of life. I ensured the completion of thorough documentation in a timely manner with the patient's goals as an utmost priority.

Jamie's is a full-range out-patient facility specializing in orthopedic, sports medicine and women’s health related conditions. Here I had the privilege of working alongside Jamie as I applied manual therapy and modalities including; soft and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, interX therapy, mechanical/ manual lumbar & cervical traction, cryotherapy, and thermotherapy. I educated patients on specific therapeutic exercises to encourage the healing of post surgical joint replacements, sport injuries, reconditioning, gait deviations, and back / neck conditions. My other responsibilities included observing and assisting in exercises + gait training with and without the use of orthotic and assistive devices.
