As a fourth year biomedical science student at Exeter University, I am eager to gain hands-on experience in the field and contribute to advancing biomedical research. I am a highly motivated individual, driven by my passion and admiration for an incredibly dynamic and ever-evolving frontier of scientific discovery. Last year, I completed a placement year in Diabetes Research, directly complimenting my aspirations to pursue a career in clinical science whilst enhancing my laboratory proficiency and providing first-hand experience of the challenging and rewarding nature of this field. My studies combine strong independent research with effective team and collaborative skills to further my understanding of complex biomedical concepts including human anatomy and physiology, molecular biology, and pharmacology. My laboratory experience has allowed me to experience working in a high pressure environment under strict time controls, building skills such as cell culture techniques, DNA extraction, PCR analysis and ELISA.
