Accountant
Current• Act as main client-facing point of contact for small and medium-sized client accounts in multiple industries, lines of business and non-profit sector ad providing as needed accounting and finance tasks and reporting analysis• Generate accurate and informative financial reports on an ad-hoc basis utilizing Excel, pivot tables and Quickbooks• Oversee all functions of accounting cycle for client accounts including payroll, bookkeeping, establishing and supervising monthly/quarterly/yearly closings, recurring journal entries, general ledgers and bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, cost variance analysis, financial statements, and accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP) using Quickbooks, ADP Workforce, and Online banking interfaces• Provide support for audits including GST/HST credits, government funding audits for non-profit programs, facilitate third-party audits with production auditors, government agencies, payroll companies, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and industry regulations• Prepare government remittances including payroll, GHS/HST, government funding tracking & filing ensuring corporate compliance for government regulations, filing, and payments, provincial & federal sales taxes• Facilitate bi-weekly payroll for multiple client accounts and assist with payroll audits or any payroll related inquiries• Monitor and report on monthly business activities and provide as-needed guidance to improve cost controls, financial processes and financial performance for all client accounts• Assist in the improvement of financial reporting, and finance transformation by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)• Evaluate key performance indicators (KPI's), and communicate issues to senior management along with appropriate resolutions
