I will be graduating from Texas A&M University in May 2019 with a Bachelors of Art in English with a minor in History and am looking to further develop my professional background in areas such as business administration, written and oral communications, and customer or service operations. I currently work as a student worker for a Library Specialist II at Cushing Memorial Library and Archives. In my position, I complete a variety of detail-oriented tasks, such as the organizing of uncatalogued materials to be used by both patrons and researchers alike, as well as tackle projects dealing with book shifting and collection merging. My job requires effective time management skills, as well as the completion of meticulous work that is necessary to the development of larger projects. This position involves a healthy level patron interaction due to the library’s main goal surrounding the preservation of rare books and materials for the public. We work to serve the public, and this mission has provided me with valuable skills in regards to customer service.I excel in work environments that enable me to work within both individual and team settings to contribute to an overall vision or goal. To me, every task is important and I take extreme pride in every assignment I complete. When faced with obstacles, I can be counted on to use critical thinking skills to overcome any problems that may arise, but I will never shy away from communication when in need of assistance. I am a fast learner and am willing to learn whatever is needed in order to thoroughly complete a task and better serve both the company and the consumer.
