I became Senior ResLife Advisor after being promoted within just three months to look over a team of 16 RLAs and 1,100 students. One of my responsibilities in this role is to create two rotas for nightly on-call shifts over the duration of the year. This is in addition to allocating 141 flats across a team of 16, dealing with any issues that may arise within the team or regarding students RLAs don’t feel comfortable handling alone.

Duties as an RLA at the University of Manchester include looking over 10 flats or 100 students, these first years being under my jurisdiction and supervision. As part of community engagement and fostering better living standards, I help with the operation of open days and other campus events, as well as creating, organising and running events personally to promote student well-being. We also rotate being on call, acting as the first point of contact when dealing with any emergencies happening outside of University operating hours.

I lead the team on a rotating shift basis, responsible for organising stations, breaks, closing jobs, wastage, mediating customer complaints in addition to being the point of contact between the team and management. Served and lead the team at one of the voted ‘Best bars in the UK’, ‘Leading Bar/Club of the year 2023’ and‘Pub/Bar Brand of the year 2023’. One of the busiest bars in the country.As one of our five supervisors, and the only female supervisor, leading a team of 40 on a given shift, reporting directly to the Bar Manager,deputising in the absence of the Assistant Bar Manager.Working close with restaurant management and other departments when working on dispensary to ensure thesame quality and speed of service as the bar. Dealt with customers queries or issues to rectify or enhance guest experience, performing refunds wheresuitable. Received extensive training to gain ‘specialist’ status behind the bar, acting as a lead trainer, ensuring high andconsistency of standards across the bar staff, meeting monthly with management to discuss areas ofimprovements such as maintenance issues or functionality of the bar layout. Assisted in interviewing new staff, conducting trial shifts, providing feedback on the candidate potential andtalent. As the sole Barista Coach, developed, designed, and lead all coffee training for all staff as part of my KPI,which lead to a reduction in poor reviews on the coffee service provided. Completing daily check lists on set up and close-down standards, ensuring efficient and smooth operation. Responsible for stock levels and ordering fruits and garnishes to make sure par is up kept. Each shift assigned staff to a station, knowing each team members strengths, distributing breaks and closingjobs. Confirmed and recorded all wastage at the end of a shift, dealing with outstanding tabs, making sure all billsare accounted for.

This was my third promotion within my first year at the company.

Working at Albert Schloss, I serve at one of the largest bars in the Northeast of the UK. As a member of this team, I’m part of an award-winning team of 30 people, recently voted the “Most Loved” and “Best Bar” in Manchester. I train all new bartenders upon joining, and all new employees on coffee after extensive training to receive “specialist” status. Since starting, I have also become Free pour licence certified.

In this role, my position is to advise Mission Mars as a multi-award winning hospitality company on better sustainability practices by assessing current measures in place against specific set goals. Weekly, I collect utility readings and assess waste management, storing data in an interactive excel document. Since starting, we have installed and utilised tools such as Smappee and SmartFlow to provide real time data on energy usage. In the first three months we achieved a reduced waste collection saving the company annually £7000 and electricity usage by 15%. Another aspect of this role has been engaging staff and customers through staff surveys and educational tools during initial training, in addition to collaborating with the marketing team.

After closing my first 2 deals I was promoted just 2 months in to Recruitment Consultant

Here at Twenty, I was fully trained to use and utilise platforms like ATS (Bullhorn) CareerBuilder, and LinkedIn, where I would recruit to source perfect candidates based on specific job openings for an extensive range of corporations like Bloomberg, AT&T, and First Republic Bank. I then conducted initial screenings with candidates before editing their resumes, gearing them towards the role, and then presenting candidates to clients, securing their interviews with a high success rate. With every candidate I held interview prep sessions, supporting the candidate the entire process, closing 5 deals in 4 months.

Throughout this seasonal position, I supervised 2 different music venues in North Carolina, with capacities of up to 18,000 people. I delegated waste collection materials to event attendees while educating them on the Live Nations Green Nation Initiative. I managed and trained a team of 2-5 people in collecting and sorting waste materials, on average mitigating 75% of waste from going to landfill. As a team, we also hosted local and national non-profits to attend events and educate the public.

During my time at this start-up, I was responsible for recording the amount of waste produced monthly, including food, water, and product packaging materials, while suggesting potential solutions based on the figures. I carried out research on compostable food packaging, before pitching it to management and leading the implementation of these products in the restaurant. I also organised educational sessions for staff on the correlation between the food industry and sustainability issues and the physical and environmental benefits of changing our diet.

At Path Light Pro, I conducted site visits across North and South Carolina for over 20 different construction companies. Here inspected sites up to 395 acres after achieving EPA and OSHA certification.I then was responsible for collecting precipitation data for each site weekly, logging this and site developments in legal standing maps and infographic documents. I would submit further reports on environmental violations, acting as the point of contact between state representatives, site managers, and third-party contractors to achieve sustainable development.

During this part-time position during my studies, I conducted campus-wide research on the consensus of students and faculty’s stance on sustainability at the institution. Independently I wrote a 13-page report on the collected data to present to senior leadership. I also held a campus-wide town hall meeting to present findings and propose necessary solutions to achieve the University's sustainability goals. After that project, I organised a symposium with over 50 attendees, with guest speakers from state-wide nonprofits, to discuss the intrinsic link between environmental and racial injustice.

I was promoted after only 1 year from a Resident Assistant to Head Resident Assistant. In this part-time role while at University, I managed 3 of 7 residence halls on campus, leading a team of 12 RAs responsible for 500 residents, 30 specifically under my care. I carried out weekly check-ins on my residents’ mental well-being, reporting issues to the appropriate campus body as well as the Director of Housing and Residence. I also completed monthly night rounds ensuring the safety of students and acting as the first response to any emergency. Part of the role was to promote inclusion and connection throughout the student body by organising community gatherings.

During this Internship, I assisted The Director of The Learning Society in organising an exclusive event with The Cousteau Family for 2,100 attendees. I lead the promotion of the event via social media, posting in local blogs and magazines, and email. I partnered with statewide non-Profits, specialising in environmental initiatives, to provide educational events leading up to the event. This was in conjunction with planning and tracking all itinerary items through effective self-created excel sheets and other documentation to manage task items.

While in this seasonal role, I successfully coordinated any events or camps held on campus over that summer, including housing for 250 interns, 4 weddings, and multiple large residential camps. I acted as the first point of contact for any arising issues working with a team of 3 on finding solutions. Throughout the duration, I increased the productivity of the team through team building and the delegation of tasks in an effective manner.

Even though I worked here part-time, I was an integral member of the founding and launching of the business with now an 11.1k following on Instagram, and stakeholders including Liam Tancock, World Record Holder Swimmer. I helped with original designs, promotions, partnerships, and pop-up sale events. I also trained new employees on product features and customer engagement increasing sales.
