I was offered this role as a continuation from my third year project at AUT, and it is taking place on a casual basis over the next few months. It involves dendrochronology, which is the measurement and analysis of tree ring growth. For this work I’m focusing on beech tree samples collected in Canterbury. My job is to prepare and measure the samples for my project manager, who will then use the information I’ve gathered for future research projects.
