• Working with special needs participants and their families, creating, and implementing activities while developing and maintaining internal and external relationships • Knowledge of ADA Title II (State and Local Government) laws and its applicability to our services as well as staying abreast of new court rulings that could affect how our programs run• Reviewing new participant’s intake forms and assessing appropriateness of programs, clarifying with participant, caregiver or other involved party when necessary• Purchasing supplies with a city credit card (Pro-Card) or working with the purchasing department to generate a P.O. • Staff development and leadership – supervising Recreation Leader II employees by creating and overseeing schedules, documenting for yearly performance reviews and leading staff meetings• Coordinate 20+ volunteers for the Scottsdale Bobcats Special Olympics unified teams • Responsible for tracking federally funded ADA accessible kitchen usage while working in tandem with the City’s HUD department• Identifying, assessing, and resolving problems while acting as an advocate for our participants and their families• Working and partnering with different departments within the city such as Youth Development for after school programs, the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park for special events, or Vista Del Camino for financial or life skills assistance for participants and their families or the Scottsdale Police Department for fundraising opportunities• Working with outside agencies such as similar departments in our partner cities, or other organizations such as the Arizona Special Olympics, Troon Golf Club, TPC Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Unified School District
