Caity Buschell is a QC Laboratory Supervisor at Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc.. Colleagues describe her as "Caity’s resume indicated that she was experienced and comfortable working with laboratory equipment, but most importantly she claimed to be “enthusiastic, fast learning, careful, analytically and logically minded.” I was not disappointed! The first thing I noticed about Caity is she is very organized. She was assigned to work with our ChemiSens CPA202 system, a sophisticated reaction calorimeter that has a variety of parts and special tools, so she created a place for everything and kept everything in its place. Her care in maintaining and operating the instrument was impeccable. She made sure that I also adhered to her good habits! The ChemiSens device is a very precise and real-time chemical process analyzer. Caity’s primary task was to develop a workbook of example experiments for us to use as templates both for our contract testing business and for sales demonstrations and internal training. Benchmark experiments included CO2 capture in amine solutions, heats of reaction, reflux operations, and emulsion polymerizations. Caity demonstrated calm maturity in dealing with a variety of day to day situations. She presented a great balance of being able to share what she knew, respect what others knew, and demonstrated a genuine curiosity to learn more and to explain what she observed. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she has been a great pleasure to work with."
