About Caitlind Walker
"Space, the final frontier." With those four words I fell in love with the idea of space exploration. As a daughter of two engineers, I have always been influenced by, and interested in, the world of engineering. I love the problem-solving, the creativity, and the teamwork. But, Star Trek is what first truly introduced me to space exploration, and I had found my passion. Seeing the quirky show brought alive my imagination, including my theories on space travel, artificial gravity, and, of course, teleportation. I wanted to find a way to piece these two crucial aspects of myself into one. Through studying engineering in high school, and my internship at Boeing, I found my fit: electrical and aerospace engineering. Putting these two fields together allows me to pursue both of my passions, in a field that is ever-growing and changing. So, I decided to put this discovery, and my passions, to good use. I was honored to do an internship with Boeing last summer, where I was tasked with redesigning a drone to enhance its current capabilities and make it safer. I was deemed program manager for my team, so in addition to utilizing AutoDesk Inventor and Cura, I managed my team's schedule and ensured that our product would be completed by our deadline. We finished this project by presenting our drone in front of Boeing CEO, Dennis Muilenburg, as well as a multitude of Boeing engineers. As I continue to pursue my passion, I am looking to intern for an aerospace and/or space-related company in the summer of 2019. Thank you for your time.Public Speaking | Leadership | MATLAB | AutoDesk Inventor | Cura | AutoCAD | FFF/FDM Additive Manufacturing | SLS Additive Manufacturing | French
