Led organizational change, internal communication, operations, culture, employee engagement, facilities, and internal events, and scaled the People, Operations & Culture team. A couple of big wins during each phase of my time there:- Led the internal communication, culture, and operations strategy in the merger of Insider Intelligence and eMarketer

- Created the company’s first Mission, Values, and Culture site to share internally and externally- Started first company-wide newsletter and first distributed employee engagement strategy- Wrote pieces for Insider’s sites, spoke internally and externally on panels, and delivered keynotes about culture, mental health and wellness, and other topics- Developed and hosted lunch and learns, panels, workshops, mentorship and coaching, networking opportunities, and more, combining in-person events with digital options and using data, feedback, and surveys to improve programming- Created the first company-wide shared drive to house materials including FAQs, HR documentation, trainings, onboarding materials, IT information, logo and design assets

- Part of a 3-person project management team for Insider’s headquarters design, buildout, and move, where I led employee communication strategy, architectural design, facilities, the actual move of 400+ employees and their belongings, and more

Vancouver, British Columbia

My role at BC Housing was to manage the administrative support system for Vancouver's entire Lower Mainland region, the largest region in British Columbia. While managing a team of five documentation clerks, I oversaw all tenant file maintenance and documentation for our 40+ directly managed buildings, assessed and improved operational procedures to be implemented provincially, kept records for building maintenance, managed attendance records for 100+ employees, onboarded new staff across all business areas, composed internal communication for the regional office and sites, worked with specialized computer systems for records management and reporting, and planned all office social events. I also completed training courses on subjects like leadership, management, respectfully engaging with indigenous people, and providing support to tenants with mental illness.

Working from abroad for Academic Leadership Charter School, I wrote charter and grant proposals, sought corporate, foundation, and private donations, analyzed assessment data and created reports, managed school operations and advised front office staff, liaised with vendors and brokers, managed local and nationwide outreach and promotion initiatives, wrote and updated handbooks, manuals, school letters, and memos, and prepared reports for the Board of Trustees and the Department of Education.

My main accomplishment during my time at ALCS was writing the successful charter renewal of the school which resulted in its initial charter being renewed for a second period and its expansion into a middle school in the South Bronx. This was a year-long project that included many drafts and strict attention to guidelines and deadlines as well as months of data analysis and research.In addition, I was in charge of a number of operational and financial duties including but not limited to: the annual school lottery, management of the front office staff, Quickbooks, payroll, human resources, inventory/ordering, insurance account administration, compliance, annual audits, writing/editing staff and operations/finance manuals, correspondence, completing various compliance and reporting requirements, researching and collecting bids for vendors, brokers, etc., and communicating with our local community, the Department of Education, and the Board of Trustees.

My main duties were to assist the Executive Director with all correspondence, reporting, and data analysis, to prepare materials for monthly Board meetings and Department of Education reporting requirements, to train and manage the office staff, do payroll and maintain human resources records, conduct all inventory and ordering, and to compose and edit staff, student, and operations manuals. Also, shortly after I started, the school was put on probation due to its management of the school lottery during the previous year. Because of this, I reorganized and managed the school lottery from start to finish which resulted in the school being removed from probation. I also received accounting training from an accounting consultant hired by the school and filled in for the Director of Finance during several periods of staff turnover.

Buttercup Bake Shop underwent a great period of change during my time there. The owner and I worked with a marketing company to enhance the brand. They also constructed a completely new website and online ordering system for us. I wrote all of the copy for the website, provided feedback to the marketing team, structured the online ordering system on the backend to be best used for our purposes, and tested the system after updates for bugs. I also recruited, trained, and managed the counter and kitchen staff, managed the entire online ordering system after its implementation, conducted inventory and ordered materials, corresponded with vendors and customers, ghostwrote the owner’s blog, wrote all staff memos, maintained the bakery Facebook and Twitter, advised the owner regarding business decisions, and managed special customers as well as damage control.
