Manager Of Community Arts
Current•Interview, hire, train, mentor, coach, and evaluate Museum Educators, co-op students, Coordinator ofCommunity & Family Programs, and the Community Arts Organizer.•Support the Community Arts Organizer with the hiring and training of Community Arts Liaisons.•Strategically develop and oversee program content for all Artful Adventures tours and Home School programs including pricing, structure, format, policies, and Museum Educator lesson plans.•Track attendance and write narrative reports for program areas to fulfill contract and funding requirements for Community Arts Initiative, VSA Museum Access for Kids program (Artful Adventures/ ACCESS collaboration), Artful Adventures, and special events and programs funded through sponsorship.•Actively serve on interdepartmental teams for group visits at the MFA and collaborate with other departments across the Museum on program support, planning, and promotion.•Oversee operations for the Community Arts Initiative Artist Project including the Call to Artists, information sessions, jury, interviews, web page copy, and supporting the selected artist with supplies, logistics, space reservations, overall scheduling of events, and miscellaneous project needs.•Organize and provide logistical and operational support for the annual CAI Artist Project Opening Reception.•Design the online art-making instructions on www.mfa.org/artathome. Purchase materials within budget and work with MFA volunteers, the co-op student, and Coordinator of Community & Family Programs to assemble 1000 kits per giveaway event.•Develop and implement visitor-centered art-making engagement opportunities for visitors of all ages such as vacation weeks and drop-in art activities during pop-up programs and events including MFA Late Nites and Open Houses.
