Worked on First Amendment issues regarding student journalists across the country. Drafted legal guides, helped revamp and relaunch SPLC website, answered legal help requests.

Directed content and website development to launch Mclellanlib.com, the first national resource used to answer student legal questions in an approachable and understandable format. Attended conferences and met with contributors to navigate the launch of the site.

Conducted legal research for Dr. Bryn Austin, and co-authored an article regarding how the government could use tax law to disincentivize the harmful effects of photo-manipulation of models that often lead to eating disorders for impressionable youth. The article is the basis of legislation in Massachusetts.

The Michigan State University First Amendment Law Clinic is the only one of its kind in the country. As a clinician, I researched and created weekly workshops on a multitude of legal areas, including the First Amendment, student press laws, defamation, privacy, intellectual property, fair use, and social media. The clinic is specifically designed to help high school journalists understand their Constitutional rights in the legal system and try to provide answers to their questions. I also researched and wrote a memorandum on a First Amendment Speech and Establishment Clause issue raised by a student at a Michigan High School.

At a Family Court, I observed a wide range of issues including divorces, custody disputes, neglect and abuse cases, juvenile criminal cases, and personal protection orders. I observed court proceedings from motions to hearings and often ran the courtroom equipment. I assisted the law clerk with drafting court orders, reviewing personal protection orders, and conducting legal research on topics such as Michigan divorce law and a proposed court rule regarding juvenile restraints in courtrooms.

At the 30th Judicial Circuit Court, I observed a mixed civil and criminal docket featuring a wide range of cases including: probation violations, criminal sentencing, administrative law appeals, personal injury, and corporate litigation. I observed several trials including a criminal sexual conduct trial and a murder trial. I conducted legal research, and drafted a memorandum regarding an appeal from an administrative agency, watched the oral argument, and drafted judicial opinion on the case. I also observed and participated in the specialty Mental Health Court, which conducts weekly review meetings of the participants both in court and with the specialty team of attorneys, psychologists, probation officers, deputies, and the judge.

I provided 24-hour assistance to residents with friendly customer service. I coordinated communication between building staff during emergency situations and daily affairs. I facilitated building maintenance and mail delivery to ensure resident satisfaction.

As a Fairy Godmother in Training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, it was my role to give guest the best possible experience while maintaining a positive show image and excellent customer service. I was on the front line of guest relations, working with customers and trying to remedy their problems on a daily basis. I coordinated all merchandise for the boutique including stocking and ordering supplies.
