Caitlin Slessor is an Attorney, Mediator, and Board Member at Shuttleworth and Ingersoll, whose practice focuses on litigation, with emphasis on family law matters. Caitlin represents clients from the beginning to the end of their family law cases by providing pre-divorce planning, assisting clients with the legal process of a divorce or custody case, negotiating settlements or taking the cases to trial, and working through compliance issues when their court orders when the case is finished. Caitlin especially enjoys coaching clients to be empowered to determine their own futures. With a deep understanding that the legal process is just one part of the end of her clients' relationship, Caitlin can be the guide they need through a tough life transition.Caitlin also enjoys litigating a variety of other matters, from Constitutional challenges of statutes, to employment discrimination, to bringing 1983 actions against law enforcement, to multi-party contested estates. Caitlin is an active participant and leader in the legal community. She has served as the President of the Linn County Bar Association, is a Governor on the Iowa State Bar Association Board, and is serving a six year term on the Judicial Nominating Commission in the 6th Judicial District. An enthusiastic Cedar Rapids resident, Caitlin previously served as the Board President at the New Pioneer Coop, and as a board member of the YMCA. She loves living in Cedar Rapids and working to make it the best community it can be.
