As the Coordinator of Organizing I coordinate, facilitate, and execute, in accordance with NEA-NH policies, the internal and external organizing activities of the association in order to grow membership through scratch organizing, retaining current members, and increasing the number of new members.
Primary role of job is to support two UniServ Directors with the daily membership needs. Needs range from processing/updating memberships in IMS to assisting members/locals with targeted voter lists for local elections to membership engagement around legislative efforts.
Coordinated and managed the campaign in the state. Recruited and managed field staff and volunteers, identified events and targeted locations to have a presence, and distributed materials across that state. We harnessed social media tools for the campaign to reach a broader audience. Created press events and opportunities. Our team had a strong visual presence all across our targeted communities. Our organizers were able to not only engage local citizens around our efforts, but celebrities and high profile elected officials.
Oversaw the region’s member to member outreach, education, voter registration, mobilization and GOTV program in New Hampshire on all federal races and in Maine’s second Congressional district for all federal races. Led the union member to member organizing, communication and education via social media and traditional in-person trainings.
Planned and executed weekly member events in communities across the seacoast region of New Hampshire and provided leadership trainings to volunteer members. Trained colleagues in utilizing technology to more effectively organize statewide campaign.
