After working at several different jobs while in law school, I've discovered that I most enjoy working in positions that require me to juggle multiple different types of tasks from solo work on creating reports and managing budgets to collaborative efforts leading cross-functional teams or training employees. As a Team Lead working in mortgage loan processing, I found that I loved being the one everyone came to with their questions. From here, I took it upon myself to create training sessions and job aids to help my team increase their efficiency which ultimately allowed us to consistently beat our monthly goals. Additionally, I served as the Subject Matter Expert to the project team developing the loan processing software that we used because I provided consistent feedback and troubleshooting following each new release or patch.Working with that project team led me to apply for a position as Project Manager. I became familiar with several different programs for managing project timelines, budgets, vendor invoices, etc. (MS Project, Excel, Visio, DevOps, Clarity, PeopleSoft, and Ariba). I gained further confidence in my leadership and communication skills. In any position, it's important to understand the process from beginning to end or the subject matter from the ground up. This is why I have been successful at so many different jobs, many of which were short-term contracts. Now, I would very much like to grow my career at a company that values its employees.
