I have always thoroughly enjoyed working with people, whether it be as simple as helping to keep them safe at a public pool or assisting them while shopping in a department store. Since beginning my journey in the work force at 15, I have been involved in wide variety of customer service positions. These experiences have deepened my love for working with, and helping, people. These positions also enabled me learn how to relate to people and build a personal relationship with them so that I could know how to best help them. While my previous experience has taught me how to help people with customer service decisions and dilemmas, my ultimate career goal is to assist people with more complex issues in their life. With my continued studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, I plan to earn a master's degree in social work and use the knowledge I've gained in school and the working world to enter a career assisting individuals in any means necessary. I would like to try and help individuals, ranging from young children and adolescents to adults, maintain excellent mental health. My ideal career would be working to establish and maintain a caring and personal relationship with each person in order to help them work through whatever issues they may be facing. While this will be difficult career path, it would also be very rewarding and I am going to work hard and take the time to provide the best possible care for each individual person.
