I conducted research in two different labs in the Microbiology department. From August 2013-May 2014 I helped a graduate student work on her project focusing on the microbial ecology of South Carolina beaches. From May 2014-August 2015 I worked on a project to discover a link between the gut microbiota and type 1 diabetes. I also had students that worked on the project with me and some in which I mentored to continue on with the project when I left.
