I am a second-year online MPH candidate through the Keck School of Medicine at The University of Southern California with a concentration in Health Services and Policy. I graduated from Baylor University, acquiring my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations. Through my experience in management positions, I have gained valuable leadership and management skills that will provide valuable insight to a myriad of positions. My current job at the Texas Department of State Health Services has also immersed me in the practical application of public health services. Besides gaining public health knowledge during my graduate studies, I am also obtaining even more public health insight with my practicum at Global Hope 365. Interning at Global Hope 365 has provided me with education, awareness, and prevention skills for improving the quality of life for women and girls. It has also provided me with education about ending Child Marriage, Human Trafficking and other harmful practices toward women and children. Furthermore, I am certified in Global Collaboration and Health Research and Ethics. Both certifications have given me a wealth of knowledge about the global health sphere.With my undergraduate journalism coursework and my graduate studies, I have obtained a vast array of knowledge that will navigate me to successfully implement changes in our healthcare system in the U.S. and at a global scale. I am confident that these policy changes I hope to implement will be a giant step in eliminating health inequalities and promote more health equity.
